Community Support

For more than 85 years, Third Federal has operated with a belief that success in the neighborhoods we serve means success for all of us.
We believe that strong neighborhoods are the foundation of strong communities, and that we have a responsibility to partner with, and invest in, the people and organizations who share these principles.
Community Giving Focus
Our giving philosophy is guided by the Third Federal mission to help people achieve the dream of homeownership and financial security.
Through sponsorships, events, and charitable giving, we build meaningful partnerships with trusted organizations, prioritizing those that support under-resourced communities and low- to moderate-income residents.
Consideration is given to organizations with a 501(c)(3) status whose work is focused within the greater Cleveland and Akron areas of Ohio, and select Florida markets. We welcome inquiries from qualified nonprofits that demonstrate alignment with the following priorities:
- Affordable housing
- Community stability and revitalization
- Financial literacy
- Education

Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event, and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please allow up to four weeks for review. If approved, you will be contacted.
Charitable Grants
The Third Federal Foundation provides charitable grants to nonprofit partners who meet the criteria outlined above. The Foundation invests in communities throughout the greater Cleveland and Akron areas of Ohio, and select Florida markets with a special focus on initiatives in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood. Slavic Village is where Third Federal was founded, and remains the site of the company’s corporate headquarters today.
Grant proposals are invited based on alignment with the giving focus outlined above. Inquiries can be emailed to Foundation@thirdfederal.com. If the Foundation feels that there is potential to invite a proposal, more information will be requested.
